katie tipton 300With a degree in psychology and a Master’s degree in gerontology, Katie Tipton began her career in nursing homes. “It pushed me to realize that I didn’'t want to be in those places any more than the people who lived there,” she said. At the same time, Lynne Giacobbe, executive director of Kendal at Home, was having a hard time finding a nurse who had geriatric experience. Once the two spoke, Dave was intrigued. “I took care of so many people in the nursing home that it was easy to see who didn’'t need to be there or who could have avoided being in a nursing home altogether,” he said. “To be part of something like Kendal at Home from the ground up sounded like an amazing opportunity.” Dave became the first care coordinator of Kendal at Home in 2004.

Posted by Lynne Giacobbe on July 2, 2012 at 9:45 AM

care coordinators kendalCare coordinators at Kendal at Home coordinate and advocate long term care services for each and every member. We never impose decisions on you, but rather work together to make sure your wishes are followed when care or services are required. A care coordinator may communicate what he or she thinks is best for you, but the final decision is always yours.
