Lynne Giacobbe has served as Executive Director of Kendal at Home since its inception over 10 years ago. Lynne has worked in the non-profit field for more than 30 years. For the past 25 years she has worked in the area of administration and program development. Lynne is the Executive Director of Ohio’s first continuing care at home community “without walls”. Through the development of Kendal at Home, Lynne has helped to bring the concept of continuing care to older adults who prefer to spend their retirement years in their own home.
Prior to returning to northeast Ohio, Lynne spent the majority of her career in non-profit services and in particular in the field of victim services. Lynne was the Executive Director of a victim assistance organization in upstate New York for 10 years. Serving on the New York State Attorney General’s task force, she worked to establish new legislation and services for victims of crime. As a member of The National Crisis Response Team, Lynne worked in New York City to assist victims of terror in the aftermath of 9/11 attacks. She helped to establish New York’s first Child Advocacy Center, serving child sexual abuse victims and their families as well as specialized programs for all victims of sexual abuse, homicide, domestic violence and elder abuse.
Lynne was also the Director of a hospital based program in San Antonio, Texas and initiated a federally funded Home Health pilot project in the Dallas/Fort Worth area serving low income older adults.
Lynne is a graduate of Lorain County Community College and received her degree from Kent State University, Kent, OH. She completed an Administrative Certificate Program at Binghamton University, Binghamton, NY. She is a Certified Crisis Counselor and a Member of The National Organization for Victim Assistance, National Crisis Response Team.
Lynne was selected to participate in and completed the 2010 LeadingAge Leadership program and now serves on the LeadingAge Leadership Alumni Board of Directors. She is a member of the LeadingAge Ohio leadership steering committee and is currently serving as lead facilitator of LeadingAge Ohio’s first Leadership program.
